Dwight and any fellow forumites at DPR2000:

I can't make Dawn Patrol Rendevouz 2000, but it seems like a golden opportunity to spread the word about the Frank Luke Restoration Project to thousands of WWI aviation enthusiasts. Unfortunately I have to be in Atlanta that weekend, but perhaps we could make up some flyers or something as handouts and ask vendors to pass them out to customers with each sale or something. It just seems like too good an opportunity to pass up, and time is so critical (the plaque goes up on Nov 18 and we need the money yesterday!).

Does anyone have any ideas how this could be accomplished? Can anyone who is going to be there jump in and help me get it done? Are there any other ways that we could use DPR 2000 as a platform for spreading the word about the Luke monument? Would each vendor ask each customer if they'd like to add a $1 donation to their sale price to help out the project, to be collected after the show by a forumite at the event?

Please (please!) give me any ideas you might have. Maybe I could design and print a few thousand flyers and ship them to someone who could get them handed out in Dayton? I really need some forumites to dive in and help out like everyone did when we had the petition drive last year. Please let me know what ideas you guys might have. Thanks.

Steven, Go to the USAF museum site on the Dawn Patrol Rendevous 2000 and email Teresa Lacy, the special events director. She could approve such a deal as to pass out the flyers. Or maybe a Vendor such Jody Gertler who is going to have a table at the market.
Sorry you can't make it, as it will be 3 years before next Dawn Patrol Rendevous fly-in. 2003 the centenial of flight.
Cher'o,

I'm very sorry I can't make it also. I went to the first one and it was great.

Do you have the url for the USAFM? I'll do a search for it, but gov't sites are usually hard to find and don't have obvious site names.

Be Glad to help, if I can. I'm sure I can make room on the tables for a stack of handouts if you get them to me by Sept 25/26. Don't like to make promises I can't keep, though. I am planning on going and have paid for the tables etc. *BUT...if the the last minute weather report is for three days of horrible weather, I plan on staying home. It's a heck of a drive in a loaded van from Florida. More time driving there and back than actual event time. I'm open to suggestions. proposals.

Hey Joe... don't worry about bad weather. If it happens it happens, and aside from running a few copies we've lost nothing for the effort. Please email me the postal address where I should send them, and an estimate of how many you might use in a best case scenario and I'll get them to you in about two weeks. Thanks again! Please let me know any more ideas you might have.
