Hi all,

Looking for more info on this unit, and especially on used airfields and some personnel :
Lt. Arno Kirsch + 15/10/1917
Lt.d.R. Arthur Liebler + 30/10/1917
I have their birthplaces and dates, but that is where it ends.

Thanks for the helping hand !

VBR from Johan

Hallo Johan, Kasta 24 was established on 12 December 1915 and was mobilized on 23 March 1916. In the middle of 1917 it was stationed in Worteghem (sorry, but it could be spelled wrong). In Fall of 1917 its leader was Oberleutnant Richard Falke, who achieved 1 a/v together with Gefreiter Meyer on 23 September 1917. Kasta 24 was called as the "Schlachtstaffel des Kagohl 4" because of its spcialisation for ground attacks. Leutnant Liebler was killed together with his pilot Vizefeldwebel Wilhelm Schröder. Among the Staffel members was also the later famous general Curt Pflugbeil. Is this okay for today ? Greetings Mosen

Thank you very much for this great information !!!
It's a really big step forward for me, as I know in fact pratically nothing on this unit.

Hi Johan

The article about Wuertembergische Flieger in Over the Front Vol 8/3 states that Liebler chrashed over aerodrome Staden-Mariakerke.

He was probably flying together with vfw Wilhelm Schröder(P) and Flg Gustav Peschel(G) who both were killed at this location. They also belonged to KG 4/24 according to CGAS.

Hi again

Falke took over the command in Aug 1917 after a succesful journey in FA 300(Turkey) and was later captured on 2 June 1918 when the staffel was a part of BG 7.
