Is it possible to publish a list with photos and history of captured aircraft (Allied as well as German)? This may be interesting because:

1.)
Influence on the devellopment of new planes (for example: Sopwith Triplane led to Fokker Dr. 1).

2.)
Pictures with `canged´ national markings (for example a S.E.5a with German markings).

3.)
Use of captured planes in test units or even in combat (I heard something about some SPADs and Sopwiths in German service but I´m looking for more information).

4.)
And is it possible to publish this list and all further information in a column `Captured aircraft` under the main column `aircraft`?

Thanks in advance!

According to The Aerodrome the German ace Otto Kissenberth scored a victory flying a captured Sopwith Camel.

The Camel got even: he crashed it on 5.29.18, and was out of the game for the rest of the war

If you go to www.crossandcockade.com and look under the heading detective stories , you will see information about Otto Kissenberth and the Sopwith Camel he was flying when he shot down the SE5A. It has some good pictures of the aircraft and pilot.

Volker,

I have a quite a few photos of a/c as you have described, including early war captured a/c Sanke cards. Unfortunately they are scattered throughout the list. Look for the word "captured" in the photo description. One Sanke card I have identified as "Captured Bleriot Monoplane". I know I'm wrong, so if you happen to come across it and know what it is- please let me know. I'd appreciate it.
