I'm sneaking up on a gaggle of two seaters on Flying Corps,Wunderbar!Harry Tates for breakfast.Suddenly my victims go split arsing all over the sky. There is the venomous snarl of a powerful motor going past and a blast of gunfire.I look over the side to find I'm flying a Fokker Neindecker striaght to Valhalla. To date I hav'nt lived long enough to see a Biff up close. So I bought Chaz Bowyer's book to see what one looked like.Has there ever been a memoir written by a Bristol Fighter ace, pilot or observer? Perhaps if I know my enemy I might last a bit longer.

True ha is not an ace but read Flying Minnows by I think somebody called Voss. Get the later copy where correct names are given in the form of an index.
It is quite well written.

See also: "With a Bristol Fighter Squadron" by Walter Noble. He was an observer, not a pilot. But there's a lot about tactics and formations.
