Hello,

I have been putting together a web page featuring as many of the Triplanes ( and more planes) that I can find. So far I have over 80 distinct aircraft.

However, there are a few I can't find pictures of. Take a look and see if you can come up with some that haven't.

http://209.235.66.44/WW1/TriMadness/trimad.htm

Any help is appreciated and credit will be given for any pictures sent in.

The websight for Muzeum Lotnictwa Krakow has photos of the Albatros models BIIa and CI, Halbrastat CLII, Avaitik CIII Grigorwicz M15, Roland DVIb, all of these are two seaters. It also has one picture of the skeleton of a Sopwith Camel. The Great War Flying Museum has good pictures of replica S.E.5a's , Fokker DrI, and DVII. And Nueiport 28 Over the front has some photos of Lepere Lusac, Nuieport 28's, Spad XIII's Fokker's DrI's and DVII, and a Halberstadt CL.IV. Many of these pictures are replicas but there are one or two original planes in modern photograghy. I will give you more once I get more information.

The book 'Triplanes' by P.Bowers and E.McDowell, published by Motorbooks, 1993 has lots of pics
and a number you don't have.

Cool...I'd like more info on some of those craft. Is the 'Triplanes' book a good resource? In your website do you have plans of expansion to include any historical info such as when the planes were developed, if they saw service...etc. who flew them.

Since most of the aircraft shown on "Triplane Madness" were of an experimental nature and weren't placed into production, I have no plans to expand on their coverage at this time.

My main energies are devoted to developing my WW1 site and the coverage of production craft and the pilots who flew them.

Once that is done( and it's gonna be a LOOOONG road) I will branch out to cover the much lesser known types.

The Triplane Madness page was just a lark that I thought people might enjoy.

As I stated at the bottom of the page, the book "The Fighting Triplanes" has pictures of most of those you see on my site.

I apologize, I have been looking for pics for you, but many I have found are common pics of the Sopwith Tripe and the DR one. Alot of these planes are bi-, I have found would look good in your website, which I think is really good.

How about expanding on the Pfalz Dr I, suppossedly 10 where used in combat. Why not elaberate on their combat history?

Also I did come across a ref. that states that there is no pics of the Kondor Dr type nor is there any performance data available from Idflieg tests, nor is the engine even known on the initial trial. Who knows maybe someone will turn something up.
