Hello. I am trying to find any photos of the Siemens D-III's or IV's. I am especially interested in photos that show details of fittings and or any other construction details.

Thank you.

With reference to the SSW DIII/ DIV the best source for photos and drawings is Windsock Data File # 29, SSW DIII-DIV, by PM Grosz. The file is 36 pages and is packed with photos. It has drawings of both DIII and DIV.

I built a 3d model of the plane for Red Baron sim so I spent a lot of time looking at this plane. Great looking bird with interesting history.

Is someone building a replica?

Well there are two of us out here that are trying to figure out all the details. I have the Windsock DataFile and also the drawings and some notes from Dick Bennett. There is one left in a museum in Poland but we can't get any cooperation.

Thanks

Mike

I have a beautiful 3 view print of the D-III / D-IV. (no not a picture) This is a scale wire (blueprint)diagram that clearly identifies all construction details. Unfortunately it's drawn on 2 sheets that are roughly 24" x 36" each. I also have the same type blueprint of the Siemens-Halske Rotary engine. (it's my intention to build a R/C Model one of these days).
If you are interested I can try scanning these in sections or photocopying and then mailing to you.
