With apologies to those of you who have asked me from time-to-time for a scan of this or that piece from my little collection, I have not had the time to respond until this summer. Here are a few that people have asked for. Of course, they are at my site, which is http://charlesgosse.home.mindspring.com. I hope to update it soon with new material, as well.

Interesting scan....just curious about the colors tho. The pattern seems to diverge w/o distinct borders. I had heard or read somewhere that the lozenge pattern was very crisp...any truth to that?

This is 5 color undersurface lozenge, by the way, not the darker uppersurface.

It is not very crisp in terms of visually demarcated lines and part of this is due to ageing. I have some upper surface fabric which is very faded but, under the rib tapes where the fabric was protected from sunlight and so forth, the colors are very crisp and the edges of each 'lozenge,' so to speak, are not so washed out.

Generally, though, bear in mind that the 5 color lozenge had every color slightly overlapping another to create a border and the border fades with light damage.
