Anyone researching in the UK might consider joining the Royal Aeronautical Society.
The Library catalogue is now searchable online and has over 27,000 books and 100,000 photos
dating back to the 1890's. They also have complete runs of many aviation magazines.

UK members can postal borrow books as an alternative to visiting the library in London.

I deliberatly didn't mention membership details
as it costs money, and as a society member I didn't think it was fair to use the forum as a recruiting ground for overseas members.

I went "sheesh" as getting information from you reminded of what it was like to question a suspect. And getting the info about RAes was just about as difficult.

As for it costing money, what doesn't these days???
