Anyone researching in the UK might consider joining the Royal Aeronautical Society.
The Library catalogue is now searchable online and has over 27,000 books and 100,000 photos
dating back to the 1890's. They also have complete runs of many aviation magazines.

Access is coded, I'm afraid you have to join.
UK members can postal borrow books as an alternative to visiting the library in London.

Now don't you go making sheesh noises at me Al.
I deliberatly didn't mention membership details
as it costs money, and as a society member I didn't think it was fair to use the forum as a recruiting ground for overseas members.

Listen very carefully, I will say this only once.
(Allusion to Allo Allo)
To access the library, you have to be a society member. You can obtain the information on joining the society from the society web site at www.aerosociety.com

I went "sheesh" as getting information from you reminded of what it was like to question a suspect. And getting the info about RAes was just about as difficult.

As for it costing money, what doesn't these days???

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say, can and will be used against you, blah blah blah.
