I'm looking for information about the Italian airport located in Marcon, a village nearby Venice (Italy), during WW1. I know that several aces took off from Marcon (i.e.: Ancillotto, Cabruna) but I have no info about all the units located there and on how long it was in use. Where can I find further info? Thank you guys!

Dear G.,
let me have the time to search in my database. Do you know the existence of a beatiful book called "Gli amici di Marcon" (The friends of Marcon)? It was wrote by a former pilot of Italian Squadron 77, Francis Lombardi, after a visit on the former airfield in the eighties. If you want, I can send you the copies. Why are you interested on this subject?

As member of a Historical Research Team we would like to organize an "exibit" on this airfield and try to push Marcon authorities for resume what's still existing in the area. We could ask for a "sport or cultural or whatsoever" center in the former airfield. Several buildings are still "up" (need deep working) and the area is beautifull. It's for this exibition that I'm looking for further info and possibly pictures of Marcon airfield. Thanks for answering. G.

Thanks Paolo! By the way, I'm intersted in that book you are talking about (let me know how much) and, possibly, to get in touch with those "Amici di Marcon" guys. Do you have any address? G.
