On 1st Feb 1917 2/Lt Jourdan, an observer in 20 Squadron RFC, applied a tourniquet to his pilot's thigh while in flight in a FE2B. Does anyone know if he could have done this by reaching from his own front cockpit back UNDER the pilot's instrument panel, or would he have to have climbed up OVER the pilot's panel sort of lying across it and reaching down? Pretty amazing feat if the latter, what with 90mph slipstream, several thousand feet up, middle of winter etc.
