Simon: just for the record, the '62 affidavit states explicitly that Luke fired at his would-be captors. This affidavit is not printed on this site, but is absolute must-read material for those forming opinions on the event. Before judging what they might have remembered 40 years after the fact, you have to read precisely what they said. It is rather eye opening.
