Pilot magazine (uk) has a six page article on the full restoration and flight of F2B F4516 built in 1917 and used by 13 Sqdn. A magnificent achievement by the restoration team.

Groovy! that's one of my all time favorite planes. should I just check out the usual book/magazine carrying behemoths or should I check out a specialty shop? didn't know there was a UK variant... but if that's at Borders or B&N I'll have to shell out the cash for it. that was my biggest disapointment with all the new WWI sims is that I wouldn't get to fly that plane... right now I'm wrangling with the formidable and uninviting files on OpenPlane to see what I think ... but it's fascinating stuff. makes me wish I hadn't stopped learning computer programming languages back in early high school...

"Effort by the restoration team"

No kidding. They seem to have begged, borrowed and scrounged parts off every aircraft museum in the world. Nice pics too.

I've actually tried 4 or 5 different locales in Seattle and haven't found it yet! I even tried a couple of the 'international' magazine racks downtown... urgh... maybe I'll have to try the one in Fremont... anybody out there no where I can grab this thing?

Pilot magazines e mail address is
pilotmagazine@compuserve.com maybe they can tell you who distributes in the U.S.A or back issues are $11 air mail delivered. We are talking about the June issue.

P.S The article Baltic Bash also in this issue was
written by my wife Chris!!!!! I just get to maintain the aircraft and pay half the bills.
