Everyone,
I'm writing a chronological history of WW1 aviation operations. Target size is 300k words plus. It is similar in style/content to Eric Hammel's WW2 air chronologies.
The content is an attempt to go past the nitty-gritty compilations of individual combats and record the evolution of aviation warfare of the period.
The content includes all fronts and is day-by-day. I'm including major decisions, the major land and naval battles, development/deployment of aircraft, development of tactics and unusual or consequential events. There is not a heavy emphasis upon individual pilots, but enough to relate their actions to the overall war.
Here's where I could use some help:
1) Can anyone recommend sources for operational histories of the Russian, Bulgaria, French and Turkish Air Services, preferably in English?
2) A lot of the histories of Zeppelin/airship use are very anecdotal and a little bit cartoonish. Can someone recommend a rigorous, and well-respected source?
Thanks,
Chris

Barret,
The review you refer to actually led me away from this book. My reasons are the ones you cite in the review as well as because of the emphasis on the German Naval Division (where's the Army program?). I won't find a perfect source naturally, so it may be one among many. Chris
