It looks like I will be spending my summer in Budapest with my sister & nephew! Though it's not a done deal I probably will go. I have a lot of stuff I want to do including Italy, Austria, Brumowski's birthplace, Krakow(sp?), & a few other places. I was just curious about that WWI places to see...Any musuems or archives?
Thanks for the help.

Krakow is now in Poland. Get yourself a good guide book for Hungary and one for Budapest before you go to Budapest. Also, I recommend that you might want to get a Hungarian phrase book. Berlitz makes a good one. You will find some English speakers, but you will find a lot who don't, especially in little towns like Tatabanya. In Buda be sure to see St. Matthias church where Kaiser Karl was coronated with his Empress Zita. Victory Hill is worth seeing and of course the Parliament Buuiding in Pest. I was there in 2994 and loved it.

If you get the opportunity, I strongly suggest you get to Vienna and see the Heeresgeschichtlesmuseum in the Aresenal. They have an Internet site. I think you will enjoy your visit.

Leo,
Einstein would be proud of you. Time travel is now an established fact.

I do have a good guide book on Hungary. Also, My sis & nephew speak the language & so I hope I won't have to do much....I wil be taking a course in German while I am there though. I will be going to Vienna & probably Solonika(now it's changed!) in Greece! If I take a boat on the Danube I plan on bringing some fireworks & shooting them over Belgrade!

While shooting those rockets, be sure to wave a Croation flag.

In the main park of Budapest there is the beuatiful transportation Museum that has a remarkable aviation section with an Albatros B. of World War 1, a Junkers F.13 and many other aircraft. Don't miss it. Also in the Balaton lake area there are little airfields that offer flights to tourists in An-2 biplanes. Also check the antiques shops for WW1 collectables, and if you find anything of WW1 aviation interest, please contact me. Thanks.
