I am looking for the confirmed type and any further details of the following Nieuports:
1348 (said to be a Nie. 12)
3976
3978 (identified either as Nie.11 or Nie. 17)
3979
Thanks,

Dénes

You may have seen it already, but;

http://mars.ark.com/~mdf/nieuport.html

is a large amount of info on the Nieuport type.

The serial list on that page has;

Type# SFA# User S/N Source Notes
11 565 R.N.A.S. 3976 RNAS a/c + sn Clr
11 570 R.N.A.S. 3978 Nieuport AC of WW1 Aegean

Still looking for my Windsock Datafiles for the Nie.12 and Nie.11-23 but what I have come up with is 3976 appears to be a RNAS serial # for a Nie.11 , SFA #565 and 3978 is also a RNAS serial # for a Nie.11 , SFA# 570

there is a photo of 3978 in Nieuport aircraft of WW1 by J.M BRUCE. It carries 3978 and N570.

maybe the photo ref I gave is incorrect, the
N570 is the Nieuport construction number 3978 is the navy serial number.
