You could very well be correct. He is listed in the fine compilation of WWII Luftwaffe Generals put together by F.K. Hildebrand. His WWI service record is given as: 01.08.14 - 00.00.15 Batterie-Chef im 1. Garde-Reserve-Feldartillerie-Regiment 00.00.15 - 30.09.19 Führer des Flieger-Ersatz-Abteilung 2 I think we both agree that the latter entry is in error, it should probably be FEA 6. The date he assumed command also leaves a little to be desired! He indeed is listed as Ernst Steinkopf-Hartig. Made Hauptmann on 01.10.13 and Major on 18.09.21. Rick |
