Yes, Rick -
he took over FEA 6 ca 1 year earlier in 1916. I think he is the Generalmajor of the Luftwaffe Ernst Steinkopf-Hartig but I have no proof and no other info about this Generalmajor.

You could very well be correct. He is listed in the fine compilation of WWII Luftwaffe Generals put together by F.K. Hildebrand. His WWI service record is given as:

01.08.14 - 00.00.15 Batterie-Chef im 1. Garde-Reserve-Feldartillerie-Regiment
00.00.15 - 30.09.19 Führer des Flieger-Ersatz-Abteilung 2

I think we both agree that the latter entry is in error, it should probably be FEA 6. The date he assumed command also leaves a little to be desired! He indeed is listed as Ernst Steinkopf-Hartig. Made Hauptmann on 01.10.13 and Major on 18.09.21. Rick

Sounds like an interesting book - despite of the wrong or speculative entry for S-H´s service with FEA 2.
