Does anyone know what happened to the radial engined replica Camel used in the movie The Great Waldo Pepper?

I see so few replica Camels. I'd like to hear that it's still flying somewhere.

The Douglas Champlin Fighter Museum in Mesa, Arizona has a replica Sopwith Camel that is infact, flyable. I have recently visited the collection of aircraft which are very impressive. I would highly reccomend a visit the next time you're in Arizona..

Aren't they moving the Champlin Fighter Museum soon? Do they have a website where I could get up-to-date information? I'd hate to trek out to Arizona and find everything gone.

Doug champlin has indeed sold his intire aircraft collection to Seattle's Museum of flight. But, the Champlin musuem is still gonna be around until sometime in 2003.

...which is why we should have another Forumite Champlin Museum Tour before the collection moves to Seattle. Once there, it'll be months before the new displays are in place, and your humble tour guide won't have the sorta influence/access/fraud, waste & abuse of the past 20 years in Arizona!

Hey, I'm all for it Barrett! Are you saying you could get us the VIP treatment? Maybe an after-hours tour including trying on cockpits for size?
