I was just told that fifty thousand people worked in the World Trade Center.

Is this true?

In 1993, when the World Trade Center was attacked, it was occupied by approximately 150,000 people.

Someone remind me how many died at Pearl Harbour?

Webmaster, if you don't want this on your forum, I'll understand if you delete the thread...

No problem Grey...

According to another source:

"More than 430 companies from 28 countries lease space in the World Trade Center. They are engaged in a wide variety of commercial activities, including banking and finance, insurance, transportation, import, export, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, trade associations and representatives of foreign governments. An estimated 40,000 people work in the World Trade Center, and another 140,000 visit the complex daily."

Heard on the news this am - for whatever that's worth - that 25-30k people WORKED in those buildings, guests, etc., not included.

But other than Iraq, the Sudan, Cambodia, Bosnia, Serbia, Yugoslavia, Iran, half of Latin America, and most of the postage-stamped sized countries that we bombed in the 90's, I can't imagine who would want to hurt us.

Thanks

One other note: there was no claim of responsibility yet.

Nobody knows who did this... yet.

Pearl Harbor:

"killed 2,402 men, women and children. The greatest loss of life was aboard the Arizona; many of the l,l77 crewmen who died remain entombed in the sunken hull."

a) Kudos to Scott for always permitting off topic threads here. We all know each other so well by now that we talk on many other topics and enjoy exchanging ideas.

B) Grey, don't look for any serious claim of responsibility anytime soon. If someone were stupid enough to claim responsibility, they would be reduced to smoldering rubble as fast as an F 117 could get there. Remember, these people are by nature cowards; that's why they attack innocent people.

I'm paraphrasing the President of Turkey:

"the U.S. is Face to Face with one of the greatest tragedies in history which will affect the entire world"

I think that I can speak for all European Forumites at this tragic moment. I think there is no Atlantic Ocean between us, and we are together with you, your hopes and your fears in this hard time. I hope that the responsible persons will be found...

This was an attack on humanity!!!
