This afternoon I heard on Seattle's KVI Radio that the student senate at Arizona State University has forbidden the display of the American flag because it "might be offensive to some people".
The talk show host interviewed a student (a Muslim of Syrian descent and a loyal US citizen) who fought to have the flag displayed, and he told how he was treated by the "politically correct" crowd.
I have sent the following letter to the University:
To whom it may concern,
This afternoon I heard a report on the radio that the student senate at your university refused to allow the flying of the flag of the United States on the grounds that it "might be offensive".
Offensive to whom? Only to those whose hatred for the United States would put them in the same company as the murdering criminals responsible for the unwarranted and inexcusable attacks on New York and the Pentagon, attacks which resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent people, many of whom were NOT American, but, in fact, represented many of the same groups you claim to favor in a campaign of racial hatred euphemistically referred to as "diversity".
I am aware that the tendency on college campuses is to teach hatred for this country, and to punish any gesture or word that might show a positive attitude toward her.
I could remind you that this nation, which you hate with such passion, is a nation to which hundreds of thousands of victims of persecution flow, often at the risk of their own lives, but you, obviously, prefer to live your lives in denial in your pursuit of purity of left-wing thought.
Since many of your programs, including research funding and student loans come from the federal government, that means that I, as a taxpayer, am bearing part of that financial burden.
It is my intention to contact my representatives and urge them to stop any and all funding to Arizona State University as long as your institution continues to preach and practice hatred toward this nation.
I would end this letter with the term "respectfully", but I can see very little in you that is deserving of respect.
Unfortunately, the only address I had was
information@asu.edu
but I hope someone will notice.
