Looking for meaningful discussion re: most accurate Dr1 plans available to build full size. have seen Redfern's and Freeman's. Can anyone comment on the accuracy (profusely dimensioned -could be San Abbott's?)of those that appeared in WWI Aero some years back? Would like to hear pros and cons for all(others?), and I have a lot of questions.

I have not seen Roger Freeman's drawings, I have seen photos of his Fok.DR.I he made for the Air Force Museum. Redfern's drawing are inaccurate. I believe my set of woprking sketches are as accurate as you will find. Bluer skies ahead, Dan-San P.S. My first name is Dan-San, my last name is Abbott |

I would check with www.p-pub.com/aeroplanes for support. This site has a research service link that has proven extremely usefull. Contact them with what you're looking for, they should be able to help out.. hope this helps..

I would highly suggest checking out that link i posted earlier. First in Flight Inc. has helped me immensly finding details, plans and such for a Fokker D.VII. I am certain they can do the same for you.. hey and its free. ( no im not employed by them, I just like thier site). Also, contact World War 1 Aeroplanes Inc., they have plans and other resources too.. ill post thier website link....

My working sketches are a compilation of about 35 years of research of British, French, Italian intel and reviews of the Fok. Dr.I that appeared in various contemporary journals and photo analysis. Most current drawings are derived from the "Flight" article, but trhere are other that provide dimensions. I also have some Fokker Flugzeugwerke drawings which were most helpful. fts@collectors-edition.de BTW "FTS" stands for Fokker Team Schorndorf & these guys are where it's at as far as DR-I drawings go. Take a look at his web page too Fokker-Team-Schorndorf - http://www.fokker-team.de He has some pics of the grip he built. He also has a complete set of plans for the DR-I. Mike |
