Hello Vic,
* * * * Please feel free to visit my site at:

www.dpcmodels.homestead.com

I'm still working on getting pictures from builders who have bought my kits. I do have a frame shot (2 views) of the
Pfalz Dr-1 triplane and one of the Fokker D8 thats soon to be re-released. I have gone back and made changes to the construction to ease building. Full production should resume
within the next few weeks as I have had to do some major
up grades to the tooling I currently use. Demand has took a hard toll on some of the molds used to make the cowls and other plastic parts. Bigger surprises are in store in the next
coming months. Thanks for your interest and support. *

When you rework the vacform molds for the Fokker E.V/D.VIII and Fokker Dr.I cowlings please refer to Dan-San's article in Over The Front. There is a very distinctive shape. Most kit manufacturers don't get it right. The cooling hole size and placement and the curvature of the lip under the prop boss are very distinctive. Maybe Dan-San can provide some of his material to you.

And. What aircraft would I like to see kitted by you? Well, some refining of the Guillow's types would be great. I'm sure you could improve on them! I always liked the Guillow's selection. The 18 inch series were scarce even when I was a kid in the early 1970's.

A variation on the Nieuport 17...
Siemens-Schuckert D.I/Ia complete with vacform cowling and spinner.

Fokker D.II, III, and D.V (my favorite of the early Fokker D types!)

Two-seaters:

DFW C.V
LVG C.II, IV, and C.V.
AEG C.IV or AEG J.I/J.II
Rumpler C.I (the various nose shapes would be interesting, like the Märkisches built version)

Aviatik C.I and C.III

Aviatik (Berg) C.I and D.I

Brandenburg D.I (Starstrutter) with two alternate rudder styles for Phönix and Brandenburg versions.

Phönix D.I-III

Rumpler C.IV-C.VII

Hansa-Brandenburg C.I
Hansa-Brandenburg W.12

Hannover CL.IIIa

Rumpler 6B1 or B2 seaplane

Two-seat pusher:

AGO C.I (those tail-booms would be fun!)

Fighter-pusher:

DH-2 and FE8

Monoplanes:

Morane-Saulnier P, N, and AC.

British Two-seaters:

R.E.8, AWK-FK8, Sopwith Strutter

French two-seaters:

SPAD XI and XVI and... A.2-A.4

Well, don't want to give you nightmares!

Thanks!

Hello Cigognie,
* * * * *
* Thanks for your list of suggestions. All will be taken under
advisement for future subjects. I have not been at the forum
for awhile and I'm just now playing catch-up. The request that
I get for subjects has been overwhelming at times but not
impossible to do. They just require alot of time to research.

On the vac cowlings, (fok DVIII) the original guillow cowl was used as a guide pattern. There will be some changes made to
their structure to the correct outlines of the real aircraft with
the possibility of an addition of the engine built seperatly. But
these are in the "my list of things to do".

On the Guillow kits, I do from time to time deal in the old kits
(18" w/s). These were used as a general guide for me to produce my own line. The Albatros D5a kit that I produce is
an almost exact copy of theirs with some changes made. Also
the same with the Nieuport 24/27. I did or re-did guillow's
Halberstadt CL-11 with the correct lower wing arrangement
and revised the tail outlines to the correct locations.

I have since bought my own laser system and will be producing
higher quality kits than I have been in the past. Viewing Dan-San's posting in this thread about whats coming up next in the
future......Look for larger versions, some new and some old, in
1:12 scale. In the planning stages are the Albatros D-XI, Nieuport 10/12, Sopwith 1 1/2 strutter, De-Havilland DH-5,
Nieuport 28, Fokker D-7, Fokker D-3 and maybe a Gotha GV.
These are just a few of the "Giants" that will be coming. As you can see.....I like to work with some of the lesser known
aircraft that have been swept aside by the modelling industry
either because its to hard to produce or they just don't want
to take the time to research it out. Although I can't grant every request at this present time, I will try to do my best and
to the best of my ability to come as close as I can to filling them. I'm also very thankful for all the support that I have been given since this project first started 3 years ago. *;D
Thanks for your input.

WE are ALL thrilled you are doing this. I'll definitely will be building when my life slows down. Hmmm, a Fokker D.III, yeah that's it!

My ceiling as a kid was an air traffic controller's nightmare! My father and I would build them together. I had the Guillow's Dr.I, Sterling Camel (hated those wheels!), Guillow's Nieuport 11, Guillow's 18 inch Camel (it flew great!), Nieuport 28, Rumpler C.V, Sterling Albatros D.II. etc. My father built the Boeing P-26 Peashooter and had the fuselage all filled in with plywood and filler. He gessoed it and the finish was awesome. I had little brothers who seemed bent on destroying a lot of my stuff.

Cheers!

Cigogne,

* * * *Yeah, I remember those old sterling kits. Good builders
back then but too heavy for rubber powered flight. Below is a link to view a few shots of my Armstrong Whitworth FK-8 kit,
done by modeller Jake Larson from Sun City Center, Fla.

The wingspan is 22" and the machine weighed in at 35 grams
with prop and rubber. Not too bad. Hope you enjoy the views.

Sorry, maybe a dumb question but are you talking RC models that fly or plain models that require meticulous care and patience?

Hello Mannock,
* * * * * *These are flying models geared for rubber powered
freeflight. However, they can be adapted to electric micro
R/C and should only be attempted by the more experienced
builders. The other option would be to build a static (non-flying) model.

* * * * *These are in the same basic scale as the old guillow
models of the late 1950's. The only difference is that mine are better, being laser cut and updated materials used. Plus, my
line of WW-1 vintage kits is growing. Expect to see aircraft
that on other model manufacturer would attempt to do.
Thanks for your interest.

Hey, thanks for the link. He did a nice job. So nice to see an aircraft that doesn't get as much praise as the others being built for a change. The FK8 has enough variations to make it interesting with different landing gear and radiator treatments.

Same with the D.H.4 (British version). Although most think of the Rolls Royce Eagle version there were a considerable amount of variations due to the various subcontractors and the different engine installations. I like the BHP engined version with the streamined nose and underslung radiator.
