Hello!
I plan to use this topic to tell you about updates in my web site, A Grande Guerra nos Ceus (Portuguese for The Great War in the Skies).
Yesterday, Nov. 13th, I put 6 pictures of my Pfalz D.IIIa. I hope you'll like the model, although it's beginner's work (my 3rd WWI kit and 7th overall).
Just go to www.modelismo-ww1.cjb.net, select "Pfalz D.III e D.IIIa" in the menu below the main picture and click the "Ver fotos" button. There you are.

Marcio,
* Very nice. Your really rolling along pretty darned good, beginner or not. I built a Pfalz many years ago. Had to modify an old Renwal kit. They used to require covering the wings with a thin tissue. I didn't want to go that route so I filled in the ribs and sanded my fingers to the bone. Hand painted all the markings and rigged with thread. Although I am proud of the way it came out, considering the techniques I used the result was not great. I really love the plane. After looking at yours I am definitely going to get one of those and give it another shot.
* I really get a charge out of those cartoons on your Home Page. They crack me up every time.
* Thanks for sharing the pictures, which are excellent in their own right.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * Bob *

Bob,
thanks for your nice words! The cartoons were made by my Argentinean friend Diego, who is a real talent – in drawing and modeling! They are really a success, and everyone who visits the site loves them.
The Roden Pfalz D.IIIa really deserves a try. I'm sure you'll like it.
Ah, for those who don't know why the site is in Portuguese, I just can say that there are so many good sites in English that mine would be only one more. But there are no websites on WWI modeling in my language. So, it's a way to attract modelers who don't speak English. Those who know Shakespeare's language will be delighted with the Links section.

Hello!
I've made another update in my site, and now you can see the pictures of Rio Claro modeling contest (Nov. 10th and 11th). It was a small but nice contest. There was no WWI category, so WWI models were placed in categories like "propeller - single engine". Even among WWII planes, our models did a nice job and both the RE8 and Nieuport 17 got third places.
How to go there? Go to www.modelismo-ww1.cjb.net and select "Open Rio Claro 2001" just below the main image.
I hope you'll like the pictures.

Have you considered making 2 links... so the visitor can select Portugese and English? Just a thought. I like your site, even though I can't read it. Nice models.

Hi, Brad!
You're not the first one to ask me this. Unfortunately my work leaves me with little time for taking care of my site (see, the contest was on Nov. 10 and 11 and I posted pictures only now). So it'd be impossible, at least now, to work in an English version when I don't have time even for the Portuguese version :P
And, since there are so many wonderful websites in English (and I have links for many of them), I decided to do mine in Portuguese, to help making WWI modeling popular in my country. Till now it's working, since I know at least 4 guys who started building WWI kits - I hope they like the experience!

Marcio:
Some of the Brit Football fans are saying the Brazilian side doesn't have a chance in the World Cup this coming year.
Would you like to respond to that?

Leo,
Unfortunately, the way we're playing now, we really don't have chances. :-[ Brazilian team is completely opposite to Slovenia: while none of Slovenian players can be said to be a talent or a star, when they join under Katanec's command they play very well. Brazilian team is made by stars only, but when they join under Scolari's command no one knows what to do with the ball.
However, I believe that, if our coach can spend at least 2 months with the team, we can be placed among the favourites.

I had the pleasure of seeing Brazil beat (someone? I forgot who!!!) in the playoffs when it was here in the Dallas, Texas area about 8 years ago. It was a lot of fun!

Brad,
in 1994 World Cup we played against Russia, Cameroon, Sweden, USA, Netherlands, Sweden again and Italy. But I really don't remember which of these games was in Dallas...
The draw this Satuday was very good to us, but this is getting off-topic...
