Are Bayern Munich's Carsten Janker and Germany's highest scoring ace of WWI related?? I think we should be told! *

Good luck to both England and Germany in today's World Cup qualifying matches.

Ha! Can't fool me...Bin Laden's the one with the beard. *
Though, maybe the other one's head is on upside down...
Gosh--I'm not so sure...

This one struck me just to-day whilst watching the ManU-Arsenal game. Footballers and WWI fighter pilots. Who'da thunk it?

Peter,

That last post is really a good one.Haven't been following European soccer lately although I always thought both the English and German style of play were the most entertaining to watch. The point is I don't know the player in the picture. You mentioned two English teams but now a days that still does not give me a clue to his nationality. Obviously German genes in there somewhere but if you go back far enough an awful lot of Englishmen have them. Now I've done it! Started out to inform my curiosity but knowing this site I probably started a war. :-/

Why Bob! Surely you've heard of David Beckam, England captain and Manchester United legend. He's as famous here as Babe...erm....Demagio, or....that basketball player...erm Ladybird Johnson thasit, is in the US of A.

Perhaps after Sundays performance I should add another.

I would love to see either Germany or England win the World Cup. I don't if it is possible, but it would be neat to see them play each other in the final, Chances are though, the Cup will be back n Brazil.

Leo, I must say I couldn't see Brazil winning the F.A. Cup never mind the World Cup (how the mighty have fallen, sob). My money is on Argentina or Portugal.

Peter, Vegetables aren't as funny to watch in slow motion

Most Australians couldn’t give two hoots about soccer except when world cup qualifiers come around every 4 years. Then we all trot off to the MCG, get stuck into the grog and pretend we understand what is happening out on the field. We were told that this year’s socceroos were the best ever assembled yet could only score once, from a soft penalty. Most play in the UK. So, Vigilant and Peter L, how good are these blokes ?
