I hope the Steelers and the Raiders are the finalists in the AFC Championship. In Pittsburgh, of course. I think it would be a heck of a game.
I am pleased to point out that our Pitt Panzers tied a knot in the tails of the Wolpack from N Carolina State last night, 34-19.

Hey Al!
There is nothing in this world that pleases everybody. And, it is well that it should be that way.

Al,
Who are those guys standing in your yard? They look like a bunch of offensive linemen, and they look really pissed.

Fortunately for them, it's snowing. Unfortunately for them, I have a 9mm with 3x 15 round magazines, and I'm not afraid to use it! 8)

As I'm fond of saying (can't remember where I first heard it) if we all thought alike, talked alike, and were alike in so many other ways (I'm paraphrasing and expanding on the original comment) This would be one DULL boring world, and we'd likely all commit suicide out of sheer boredom!!

Micheal,
>let's introduce a North American common currency
>(the Dollar - no prefix) so that Canadian teams get
>to play on a level playing field with their U.S.
>counterparts.
I think they should have small local recruiting districts that they get first dibs on. Montreal can have a recruiting district that is the Montreal suburbs. Teams like Phoenix who dont have an indigineous hockey playing population can bargain up a deal with a Swedish city so that is there local recruiting district. The teams get to pick in their districts first before the draft, any players they dont want can go into the draft. Any players outside their distrcit go immediately into the draft. That way teams that invest into hockey development in their local area will get rewarded. It would also mean that you would have French-Canadi(e)ns playing for the Habs with hometown pride, New Yorkers playing for New York teams, New Englanders in yellow and black, and so on. One of the things that makes Australian sport so strong is the regional pride and regional rivalries. The State of Origon series produces the best Rugby League on the planet. I think hockey should move to something the same.
I dont like teams being reduced to franchises, players to assets and trades to the 'hockey business'. Sport should be sport not a stock market of no alegiances. I want New York vs Boston games to be bloodpaths for regional purposes. I want Toronto vs Montreal to be bloodbaths between English and French speaking Canadians. It will produce high quality hockey.

Hey Al;
Baseball! thats the event I watch when I get tired of watching paint dry. Nothing personal, Al, I saw the remarks about having that weapon and not being afraid to use it.

My daily newspaper informs me that the Royal Marines based at Bagram took on their US hosts in a game of "Mercan" Football Christmas day and forced a draw. Now, a: That's not bad for people who never played the game before. b: I didn't think it was possible to play any US invented game to a draw. and c: If the Marines can do so well first try at a game the Ozzies don't play maybe we should persue it further

Good morning, Peter
Here's one for you. The GAA team regularly beats the AFL (Australian Football League) team in a composite Gaelic Rules-Australian Rules series played each 2 years. If the amateurs from Ireland can knock over the full time professionals from Australia, imagine what an FA side could do.
By the way, that beer you reckon you are keeping warm looks like lager. What mischief are you up to ?
