The publishing and distribution schedule for Over The Front will improve. There are steps to bring the new Issue Editors and the new Managing Editor up to speed. 2002 should see this improve dramatically.

Also, the online ordering process is handled by a professional E-Commerce firm who are up on the security issues. Also, a nice feature is you are able to automatically renew for 2-5 years. They won't charge your card all at once for this, but will do it annually for each successive year.

Hope this helps!

It should be out anytime... the layout was shipped off to them ages ago in early October. The Winter Issues in preparation now.

My Gallery
I am glad to report that I just received the spring and summer issues of OTF which have my work on the back!
Thank you Greg - you’re a gentleman and a scholar

I'm pleasantly surprised at some of the production values in this magazine. It's printed on relatively thick coated paper, and the cover stock is remarkably durable. The B&W illustrations and photos are nicely printed.

On the bad side - the color (outside front and back cover) is dark and tends to be overly magenta.
Coincidentally - I talked to Aaron today and he expressed a certain amount of disappointment with the color printing and is currently taking steps to rectify the situation.

I must say - my biggest disappointment is that the illustration on the back of the summer issue is distorted, squashed vertically by at least 90%
The wheel at the bottom should by just about circular :-/

well...
All this aside - I can honestly say that I am more likely to subscribe to this magazine now that I’ve seen it. They have good people putting it together who are obviously committed to producing a high-end magazine.

All-in-all a nice publication
And I'm proud to have work in it

Oh yea - content
Haven't read it yet so can't say much

Mark,

I'll take a look at the distorted drawing and compare with the original file you sent. There was another anomaly in that a SPAD VII photo in the Rüdenberg piece in the Summer Issue was printed backwards. I didn't supply it that way, so don't know how that could've happened there either.

Thanks,

Cig

Cyg
Please do check the file I sent to you. I suppose I could have screwed it up somehow before I sent it.

But the way it's supposed to look can be seen on this page,

I used to subscribe to O.T.F. and C.& C. before but finally I let my subscribtion lapse. Although both are fine magazines, I find that Windsock DataFiles and Windsock International are more my cup of tea.
I wish that I could buy all of them (sight!) .... unfortunately my budget is not unlimited so I have to make choices.
