The Luftstreitkräfte was organized thus in descending order,
Luftstreitkräfte= Kogenluft= Major General
In each Armee Ober Kommando (AOK) were:
Kommandeur der Flieger=Kofl= Hauptmann rarely Major. under the Kofl, one in each Armee were:
1 Bombengeschwader der Obersten Heeresleitung (Bogohl) of three Bombenstaffeln (Bosta) of 6 "G" class aircraft. Hptm.
1 Jagdgeschwader (Jage), Hauptmann, of 4 Jagdstaffeln (Jasta) Oberleutnant, of 14 "D" Class aircraft, more often 12, arranged in 3 Schwarme of 4 A/C of 2 Ketten of 2 Aircraft. Pilots were Flieger to Leutnant
1 Long distance Photo/Recce Flieger Abteilung (Fl. Abt) Oblt. or Hptm. of 6 "C: Class A/C.These units generally flew Ru C.IV.
1 Flieger Abteilung Artillerie, (Fl.Abt.A) 6 "C" Class aircraft. Oblt or Hptm.
In each Armee were:
4 to 6 Gruppenführer Der Flieger Grufl) Hptm. One for each Armee Korp,
1 or 2 Führer der Jadgruppe ( Gruja) Oberleutnant) of 2 to 6 Jasta or more.
1 Fl.Abt. of 6 Photo/recce "C" Class aircraft. Oblt. or Hptm.
4-6 Fl.Abt.A 6-9 "C"Class a/c, Oblt or Hptm. one for each Division in the Armee Korp.
2-4 Schlactstaffelgruppe,(Schlagru) of 3-4 Schlactstaffeln, (Schlasta) of 6-9 "CL." Class aircraft, Oblt.to Hptm. Generally one Schlagru to two Armee Korp.
1 Armee Flugpark, (AFP) Hptm.
I have omitted the Home and training units, the front Balloon and the Flak units which have a parallel organizations.
