Immo:
As can be seen in the posting by Vigilant, the Kofl has the same authority and responsibility as the RFC/RAF Brigade Commander, which was a Brigadier General, while the Kofl, was a Hauptmann. That is really being under graded. In a previous post I had discussed this disparity of rank in the Luftstreitkräfte. During the March, April 1918 offensives, Kofl 2,4,6,17 and 18 commanded forces over twice the size of an RFC/RAF Brigade!
Blauer Himmel and Happy New Year,
Dan-San

Dan-San,

thanks for the information. I have to look a little bit closer at all the RFC/RAF ranks. At present I'm fighting to read the HUGE volumes of "The War in the Air". Really impressing but I'm not sure if one life is enough to finish reading it.

BTW, I'm eagerly awaiting yours and Ricks book about the Schustas/Schlastas. I wish you good luck with it.

Happy New Year and as we say in Germany: "Guten Rutsch",

Immo
