Hi all
I wonder if anyone has the official German list of total air victories for the month October 1918.. ??? Usually the German published the monthly list within a week after the end of month, both in the HB, NB, newspapers and other media....but I dont have found the list yet for October 1918..  I have calculated through the daily reports in the NB that slightly over 500 e/a and more than 50 Balloons were brought down in air combat by the German "Army" Air Force. A further 110 e/a were brought down by German Army Flak. I have no idea how many e/a which were brought down by ground fire and forced landings within German, but this number were usually rather low. The German Marine Air Force brought down around 50 e/a and possible 7 Balloons. At least 2 further e/a were brought down by German Marine Flak. Also for the Marine I dont have the official monthly report. HB=Heeresbericht NB=Nachrichtenblätter der Luftstreitskräfte Can anyone help me..?  Gunnar |

Dear Gunner,
I think I know what your talking about, but I'm not 100% sure. If you want a detailed listing of the aircraft shotdown by the fighter units, the best source that I can think of is  The Jasta War Chronology by Franks. this book will give you a daily rundown of all Jasta claims from 1916 to EOW. It also has great info on the identity of the aircraft shotdown and it's unit. I hope this might help. To list these claims in the forum would most certainly fill-up many, many pages.Good luck, JASTA75 |

At quick computation I get 488 total victories (77 balloons) including 48 by MFJs. Biggest day was the 30th with 47 of which 29 were credited to aces. Four other days were 30+ tallies, all noted from JWC. Naturally, flak & other agents are not included.

I was mostly hunting the monthly Kogenluft report(statistic) and hoped that it could have been published in some German media but probably the ending of the War prevented this to happen.... On the other hand there is a slight possibility that it could partly have been published in some post war article etc...? Gunnar |
