The Fokker D.VI was a Fokker Flugzeugwerke developement that was derived from the Fok. V.9 and V.13 prototype aircraft of 1917. Idfleig awarded Fokker an order for 120 Fok. D.VI aircraft powered with the 110 Ps Ur.II oberursel engine, serial numbers D.1630 - 1729/18 in March 1918. The Fok.D.VII entered production first with deliveries beginning in April 1918. The deliveries of the Fok. D.VI began in May 1918 and were completed in June with a total of 60 Fok. D.VI being delivered. They were used as transition trainers for familiarization of rotary engined aircraft. The were issued to Jasta 80b, KEST 1a, KEST 2 and KEST 4b in late 1918. Production of the Fok. D.VI was cancelled in favor of the Fok. E.V with much better performance.
