What were the air services of the major powers and their chains of command? I believe the major air services were:
Royal Flying Corps (RFC) up to April 1, 1918
Royal Air Force (RAF) after April 1, 1919
Independent Air Force (IAF) elements of the RAF after June 1, 1918
United States Air Service (USAS)
German Air Service (GAS)
German Flanders Marine Corps (GFMC)?
French Air Service (FAS)
Belgian Air Service (BAS)
Italian Army Air Service (IAAS)
Italian Navy Air Service (INAS)
Imperial Russian Air Service (IRAS)
Are these correct titles for these services?

Thanks for the feedback, so far.
Let me elaborate: Is the German Flanders Marine Corps an air service? I've heard it also referred to as the Imperial German Navy Air Service, are these the same or is the GFMC an element of the IGNAS?
WRT the Italian Air Service, did it in fact have two elements, the Italian Army Air Service and the Italian Navy Air Service, or was it a single organization with a flying boat element and a land-based element?

The RNAS was the Royal Naval Air Service and there was no such thing as the Independent Air Force, just the Independent Force, RAF.

Just thought, the Belgian air service was l'Aviation Militaire Belge (according to Walter Pieters in his book Above Flanders' Fields); I've sneaking suspicion that the French air service was l'Aviation Militaire Francaise.

Just l'Aviation Militaire I think. The French don't tend to need reminding of La France There was also l'Aviation Maritime which stayed rather small scale, compared to the RNAS across the Channel.

The IAF is correctly called just the Independent Force. It was independent of the BEF (Haig) despite operating from France and answered directly to the Air Minister in London (although in fact Trenchard did just what he liked!)
