Andy:
I don't think the austro-Daimler was ever used in aa Alb. D i. Several were used in the Dii and Diii models,185-225 hp. The Brandenburg Di used this engine from 150-185hp. I have pictures, but my scanner is not working.

The Brandenburg Di 65.5 series used the 160 hp Merceses. The series 65.7 used a 150 hp Daimler and the series 28 and 28.5 had 185 HP Austro Daimlers installed.
The Albatrosse and the Brandenburg engines were pretty much "buried".

I am having a bad day. Not only am I home sick, but my reading skills have deteriorated so that I can't tell an Aviatik from an Albatross. My humble apologies.
It's hell growing old.

Don't feel bad Leo. My John Deere has only 16 hp, and I nearly buried it this AM plowing the driveway up in the Pgh suburb of Cranberry Twp. We got nearly eight inches over the last two days, and my three foot three year old can barely keep his head above all the snow in the yard, but the boy really enjoys flying the remote Camel Santa brought him.

Just did a search for Austro-Daimler and found a nice collection of engine pics at a Turin Museum web site.

http://spavalda.polito.it/museo_poli/capetti/

Under Axial Engines - visual directory is a pic of an Austro-Daimler AD 6 - 225hp engine which was used in some Aviatik D.Is.

If you have any problem with the rudder bar, I have an original which you can model it from at http://charlesgosse.home.mindspring.com.

There is a detailed analysis of a 200 hp, 6cylinder Austro-Daimler in Jane's All the World's Aircraft 1919. That edition was reprinted in 1969 by Arco Publishing CO. Inc. Arco book number 668-01955-7.

The thing that I am trying to find out is whether there is a wiring harness of the back of the engine, similar to the mercedes. The model I have has no wiring harness or distributor at all.
