There seems to be a serious lack of decals for 1/72 Great war kits (in fact, in comparison to other scales, there's a distinct lack of kits, too). I don't really know what to suggest- if you go to www.hannants.co.uk you may be able to find a sheet of 1/72 German Cross motifs of various sizes, but I've searched the site extensively for any kind of Greta War Aircraft Decals with not much joy (For example I wanted a replacement set of Decals for the Revell 1/72 Sopwith Camel, as the ones that come with it are REALLY awful, but the only ones available are the "Colourful Camels sets 1 and 2). Failing that, you could always paint them- and I saw somewhere (WW1 modelling site, I think) a novel way of printing decals osing a colour printer and attaching them to the kit, but I guess that would only really work on a larger scale.

Looks like a paint-job- I hope you have a steady hand.

Still, it's nice to see another 1/72nd modeller- Good luck!!!

Got to agree James.Even Hannants won't be able to help.I have written to several decal manufacturers suggsting 1.72 sets.SE5 markings for all the top men was one idea. The reply is that with the kits no longer in production theres no market. As you will know it's dead easy to get the old kits, shame about the transfers!
We will just have to wait till Roden produce our favorite aircraft.

In the 60s revell featured this kit in a three pack. You could haunt the ebay listings and hope for the best. I will look in my stash of decals from then and see if I have some left.
Hth,
Terry

There's one on E-bay currently, inviting opening bids of $15:00. That's a bit pricey IMO, but the E-bay number is 541621605 if you want to have a go. I see it quite often at model shows for half that price. And, don't forget, you'll need to do some work to get it back to the correct mark. As Esci's kit is still around at a reasonable price you're just as well starting there. There's nothing too difficult about the markings except for the script on the elevators, and you can probably find dry transfer letters for that

It must be the approach senility. Roden promise 5 (yes, FIVE!) new DVII kits this year. One of them must be the right variant, and who else but Udet would be the obvious choice for markings?

cheers

Thank you everyone for many good opinions.Because I hold three kits of Revell's DVII. So I agree Peter's position wait for the Roden's DVII.
Thanks everyone again!

Good Lucky!

Erich,
I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that I found an ebay listing (540813706) for a 1/72 D VII with the markings you want for a current price of three dollars and two dollars shipping. The bad news is the seller is in Canada and requires Canadien funds. My bank charges $25 for an IMO. I hope you will not have a similar obstacle.
Hth,
Terry
