Oh, FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!!!
Nick, look, if you are having trouble finding this wonderful game, and you really, really, really want it, well, say no more, I'll be happy to purchase it for you and mail it to you...
Now for the details...
You can still find it here in New York City (I trust you've heard of us?); it's about $20 American... you might also consider purchasing "Red Baron 2" as well, BECAUSE it has a multi-player option that was deleted in "Red Baron 3D"; actually, "RB3D" does have such an option, but it's so you can play on Sierra's WON.NET. Well, I've installed "RB2" and a patch to upgrade it to 3d, and it works fine. While it's not the greatest interface, nothing matches the obscene thrill of sneaking up on your opponent and shooting him in the back... sizzle, sizzle, wonk, wonk, indeed! It's a helluva lot of fun...
But it doesn't get simpler, I'm afraid... "RB3D" ONLY works in "Glide"; yeeeesss, it does have Direct 3d and Open GL (I think) drivers, but-- it just ain't the same! SO you'll have to acquire a 3DFX VOODOO card-- and they just went out of business!!! And getting one of these cards, even here in NYC? Well, they're almost as rare as hen's teeth... but it's worth it! When you see the game in "Glide", it's like you bought another game with the same name, it's that different (and good!). However, you might want to check out Creative Labs' cards-- they claim to have written a driver that emulates "Glide" (I know it exists, but I can't find that much solid data about it, even at Creative's website).
Now down to business-- I'm willing to purchase one or both games for you; possibly I can get you a copy of the patch as well; I'll post them to you; upon receipt, you reimburse me for the cost plus tax plus shipping. Sound alright? I have no qualms about this; after all, you are an Englishman: your word is your bond...
Besides, it just goes to show you, IF YOU WANT TO GET ANYTHING DONE AROUND HERE, GET AN AMERICAN!
