I am just studying a very interesting series of source books. In February 3 German "Kompanien" under command of Major Kraut (no joke!) warded off the attack of an allegedly 8000 men (white troops) strong British attack near the El Oldorobo-hill east of Taveta. In these days appeared British airplanes too and the Britons sprayed rumours among the Africans about a new god who would support the British Army. At first the use of airplanes was impressing the German Askari. The source claims that changed very fast after the first shot down and the transport of damaged parts of the wreck in the soldier´s camp.

I did not find any report about a British airplane loss in 1916 in TSTB. Are the files about British losses in East Africa incomplete?

Hi Hannes

Trevor Henshaw the author of TSTB has not been seen lately on the Forum.....I hope he will show up more often....
In a earlier answer he admitted that he has find "many" additions and also corrections since the book was published......I also hope that this information soon will be published...

Thanks Mark,

but this location is situated near the south border of Kenia north of German East Africa. Therefore I think it should be a British airplane.
