I personally like the balsa wood variety, Guillow makes some nice kits, so does Dare makes excellent flying kits that can use electric motors for free flight. The balsa kits especially for WW1 models ,I belive give you a more realistic look since you cover the plane with tissue that shows all the spares and fusalage detail like the real thing. Check for these in Flying Model Magazine and www.guillow.com

If looking for the plastic variety, your best bet is to start at the WW1 modeler's site: http://www.wwi-models.org. From there you can get just about to all sites that deal with WW1 modeling is one form or another.

Yes, I like plastic also. But there are kits in resin and in vacuform.
That gives you an even wider availability of aircraft type and price
ranges. Enjoy. GM
