Lt Edward Enos Arnold was awarded the DFC as per the London Gazette dated 1 January 1919. As yet, my jottings haven't got that far so I don't have details of any citation, his squadron etc.

Depending where you live, you should be able to take a look in the Gazette for that date (I know that the Guildhall Library in London has a complete set of Gazettes).

The award of a DFC to Lieut Edward Enos Arnold was announced in London Gazette 1st January 1919. The decoration was for distinguished and gallant services in Egypt. He was presented with the cross by His Majesty King George V at Buckingham Palace on 4th December 1919. There was no published citation.
As suggested by previous respondents, the next step will take you to the Public Record Office.
Incidentally, noting that your surname is Crane, you might be interesting in taking a look at my website. It has a couple of images of the military funeral (1918) of Mortimer Park Crane, taken from a rather unusual photograph album that I have in my collection. http://www.routledgeh.freeserve.co.uk/inde...dex.htm
Hope
you find this of interest. Hylton

Your man clearly served in Egypt; it would be wise to try to narrow this down to the Wing or Squadron; this sort of information will be held by Public Record Office, Air 76. One you (or your researcher) have identified the unit or formation, search PRO website, documents in Air 1, and in particular search on the words "Honours" and "Awards". This wll turn up 94 documents. Unfortunately, the descriptions are very vague, so you will have to examine each document by checking the "Details" column. My guess is that you have a 25 percent chance of finding the original recommendation that led to the award of the DFC.
