Back in the 70s/80s Time-Life published a series of volumes on the Great War (nine in total if memory serves) and one of these was titled "Knights Of The Air". I was half-tempted to buy a copy until I read the blurb, Mannock the one-eyed ace etc - yuk!

Otherwise known as a "49th-parallelism" (North American equivalent of "mid-Atlantic").

I'd also be careful of anything that tries to represent it's self as the "Final word" on this subject. I doubt that we'll EVER see, read or hear the final word on WWI.

But, I do HIGHLY recommend the LATEST book titled "Knights of the Air". For anyone interested in WWI Canadian flyers it is very informative.

VBR,

Al Lowe
