Hi I'm looking for some specific info on Raoul Lufbery. Namely where were the squadrons that he flew for located(VB106, N124 (FAS)
94th Aero (USAS)) what sort of training did pilots of the Lafayette escadrille and Usas receive? and does anyone know where I can get a detailed breakdown of his victories?

hi,
i dont have any info on VB106. But i do have it on N124 Lafayette Escadrille. and mentions for 94th sqnd.
LE bases:Bar-Le-Duc,Luxeuil,Cachy,Saint Juste,Ham,Chaudun,St Pol Sur Mer (Dunkirk),Senard, Chaudun, La Cheppe and La ferme De La Noblette.
94th: Villeeneuve-les-Vertus,Gengoult aerodrome, are what i have. you may want to ck on the links for the Rickenbackers "fighting the flying circus" and find out where the 94th was stationed. i have the book, but its late. ill try later...

the training varied, depending on the indvidual LE pilot. Lufberry recieved training on Farmans, schools at Amberieu, RGA. then after VB106, he went to Nieport division of GDE for training as combat pilot.

"Lafayette Escadrille Pilot Biographies" by Dennis Gordon.

If you want a book on his victories, that book, as well as The vivid air by Philip M. Flammer.

also, for all aces of USAS and France, Over the Front by Grub street publishers lists their victories.

hope that helps,
vbr
Ron
