Sir,
Who can tell me who was the victor of a German plane who was brought down on 28 April 1915 north of Ypres. Observer Thalheim died after the forced landing.

I have no record of a claim by the RFC or RNAS on that date but there are at least two French claims. Sgt Jacques Ortoli and his observer Lt J Menj, MF8, claimed a Rumpler destroyed over Miraumont while Lt (?) Albert Achard and his unnamed pilot, MS48, destroyed an unidentified aeroplane at an undisclosed location.

Allow me to add this, the report written and signed by the pilot Bootsmannsmaat Friederich Moeller on this flight of April 28th 1915 goes:
"..... Gleich darauf erkannte ich an der Kufe des Fahrgestells und an der Schwanzform, wie überhaupt an dem ganzen Eindruck eine englische Avro Maschine...." MBAF Bestand RM 110/V310.
