Here is the ending to the Dedicating a park to Weir Cook in Wilkinson IND.
It was a beautiful day but winds to high to hold fly over. With a huge turn out over 200 people. Red White & Blue theme. Great media coverage. The ceremony was so lovely! Well planned( By my good friend from a VFW). Started with band then color guard (American legion),talks of Weirs career, and a special guest & new friend who was taught how to fly by Weir Cook Sr. Who talked of the experiences with Weir. Then out of the blue skies a military salute from a by-plane. Then another out in the distance doing stunts. It was the way the two Weir Cooks( SR. & JR.) would of wanted it!
Now we the towns people can honest say we brought his name home to rest! Oh I was also presented with the American Flying Corps lapel pin. From a member back in Weirs days. And a piston off of Weir Cooks plane. That was dismantled. For which I will always tresure!
Thanks to all who have helped with info!
But i'm not done YET! Hopfuly I can get some help from all, on my next big task of Weir Cook.

Congratulations, Christy! I was announcing a race in PA last weekend and had to miss the big show, but a friend sent me the write up on it from the Indianapolis Star. Sounds like you did a great job and I hope to get up and see the monument and park some time. Thanks for your work!
