Hi there.
I'm trying to build Eduards 1/48 Hannover Cl III as a early model, Cl II. I know that engine was different, but what else? What are major visual differences to be concern about? Any idea where to look for references? I do have Windsock Datafile No. 23, is there something else.
TIA, Cezar.

Cezar;
You might want to try "German Aircraft of WW1 by Gray. It's great!

As far as I know, the best reference IS the datafile and it's photos. It mentions some dimensional and weight differences (see the tables on p.32).
'German Aircraft of the First World War' by Gray and Thetford states that the main difference was the engine type and wingtip shapes.
Compare the Datafile photo, top on p.6 to the plans. The Cl.II had short ailerons while they extended beyond the end of the wing on the Cl.III

Hope this helps.

Contact Dan-San Abbott. He has 3-view drawings of the Cl.II, Cl.III, Cl.IIIa & Cl.II (Rol.) in his plan series.
