The Patriot was not a very historic film. Some of the people in it were based on people that were alive in that time. It did make the British look like butchers, yet its ok if Mel Gibson cuts up a Redcoat. Oh well such is Hollywood.

It's the way things are chaps. The dominant imperial power, and in historical terms the United States can be seen as exactly that, will always have a case to prove against what went before. As one Engishman to another, what do you think of the French? I rest my case
