The recent thread on the discovery of a grave in France containing 24 bodies, most of whom belonged to the 10th battalion of the Linconlnshire regiment came rather closer to home than I suspected. A wandering tv cameraman was apprehended by my wife loitering in the village. Under interrogation he admitted that he was looking for a war memorial as one of the men "missing" was believed to have come from the village. We were able to get the village church unlocked for him to film inside and a short piece of film was shown on the regional news today.
