I'm wondering if any of our UK correspondents has heard anything lately about the "Biggles Flies North" movie that was announced a year ago. Ostensibly to be directed by Russell Mulcahey (yecch), the film has an official Web site, but all that's there is an "under construction" notice.

This was supposed to be the first in a series of Indiana Jones-like adventure pictures featuring Biggles and the gang. But aside from a couple of UK newspaper articles from May 2000 and a couple of unsubstantiated offline comments, I can't find anything more about this production. It isn't even in the "Rumours" category on Coming Attractions.

Anybody have any info?

I have the book and heared the rumour. Not an inspired choice of book I must say. Still, if it gets made and is an outstanding success we may yet see "Biggles and the Camel Squadron", but I won't hold my breath

cheers

Chosen because W.E.Johns never wrote a "Biggles in the U.S." do you think Peter?

Got to get bums on seats stateside.
