Today I read in the Newspaper that The German Zeppelin Company has launched its first passenger Zeppelin since the Hindenburg crash *.

This first Zeppelin is called the Bodensee, is 246 feet long and can carry 12 passengers.

Does anyone know how many are going to be built?

One assumes as many as they get orders for.

Most of the betting (and money) in the new airship biz is on cargo-lifters. There's a new plant in eastern Germany (Bond?) that has the capacity to build four cargo ships a year. They're supposed to be used for lifting large, bulky items.

Hello Scotty!

The ´new Zeppelin` is called ZEPPELIN NT. You will be surprised what your search engine will find for you!

The company has a German and English website:

http://www.zeppelin-nt.com/

This company has no business relation with CARGOLIFTER. Both are independent companies, specialised on different topics (Cargolifter on long distance transports of extremely heavy loads / Zeppelin NT passenger transports).

Somewhere (in the radio/television) I´ve heard that 14 (!?!) Zeppelins will be built until the end of this year. Next year, who knows.....

If there are problems in finding further informations or translating something from German into English language I may help you.

Is Zeppelin NT less prone to crash than Windows NT?

The first one they have built (in 1999 or 2000) is still flying.

For me it seems to be much more reliable than the new Microsoft stuff (I never changed from Win 98, it is not very modern but I had no serious problems with it).

Be prepared for a Zeppelin raid on London within the next 4 or 5 weeks.

The Bayer company is planning to buy one of the first Zeppelins. Then they will bomb the City of London with a few hundred kilos of ´Lipobay´ and some of their managers (without parachute).

Having in mind what this medicine may cause the number of casualties will be considerably.

So far...
