Gentlemen,
When Kiffen Rockwell scored the first kill for the Lafayette
escadrille,His brother Paul sent a bottle of good bourbon to celebrate with. It developed that rather than use it all riht then they would mete it out a drink at a time to each victor.
Parsons says in his book I FLEW WITH THE LAFAYETTE ESCADRILLE that the empty bottle came to light upon the death of
William Thaw.
My Question is; What became of the bottle. Is it in a private collection or a museum? Hopefully it is not lost.
I am aware that the fate of the world does not hinge upon this information, I am just curious.
TIA,
Terry
