Some time ago I read about someone providing scaled down replicas of WWII fighters. One of which was the FW190. Any details?

You may want to check out War Aircraft Replicas. These are half-scale birds, but seem to be very popular and affordable. They have the FW-190 to which you refer as well as a half dozen other designs.

I didn't realize WAR was still in business.

I met a guy that flew his WAR F4U into my local strip a couple of years ago, at 5'10" and 200lbs I had to shoehorn myself into the cockpit. The pilot claimed it was a real handful, and stick forces were so light it was easy to overstress the aircraft.

I also seem to remember reading a few accident reports of WAR birds (particularly the FW190 and Sea Fury) that mentioned wings and/or aileron flutter preceding the crash.

Then again, you may NOT want to check out War Aircraft Replicas. Stick to WWI. You'll have an extra wing in case one comes off.

Well, I am surely not able to afford the $500,000.00
190. And, the WAR models sound dangerous. I will stick to WWI with maybe three wings for added security.
