I wonder if anyone knows a website which is only based on the Gotha V.I bomber?
This will be a great help if you do.

A recent Discovery Wings Program selected the Gotha bombers as the best bomber of WWI.

Well compared to the rest of the bombers it was bigger and carried a much bigger bomb load. Those are probably the main reasons they chose it I imagine.

I presume you mean the Goth G.VI? If you do there was only one built and it was never operational. The Gotha G.III, G.IV, G.V, G.Va and G.Vb were operatiomal bombers. and were used by the KAGOHL and later Bogohl for the bombing of Britain and France as strategic bombers.
type bomb load range
1916
Gotha G.III 450kg.(990lbs)
1917 ?
AEG G.IV 400kg.(880lbs) 750km(465miles)
Gotha G.IV 500kg.(1100lbs) 700km(434miles)
Gotha G.V 500Kg. " 840km(520miles)
Fdh G.III 800kg.(1762lbs) 675km(418miles)
1918
AEG G.V 600Kg.(1320lbs)1160km(719miles)
Gotha G.Va 600kg.(1320lbs) 840km(520miles)
Gotha G.Vb " " 800km(496miles)
Fdh G.IIIa 800kg.(1762lbs) 710km(440miles)
Fdh G.IV 1000kg (2200lbs) " "
Fdh G.IVa " " " "
The Gotha series of bombers had a large number of landing accidents which were not encountered with the Fdh and AEG bombers. The AEG G.V would have replaced the Gotha G.Vb
in 1919, supplemented with the Fdh G.IVa. The AEG G.IV was a tactical bomber used for both day and night operations.
Blue skies,

Did the Gotha G.I see any operational service? The land version I mean?
