According to an article by Russ Mullen in the Cross and Cockade Great Britain Journal Volume 14, Number 3 1983: On Tuesday, 26 September 1933 de Havilland Dragon ZS AEF took off from Baragwanath Airport near Johannesburg. After stalling, the plane fell to the ground from a height of 250 feet killing both Kennedy-Cochran-Patrick and his passenger, Sir Michael Oppenheimer.
