MvR sent a cousin of his a locket with a wad of his hair inside. Over the years, the lock of hair was sold, switched hands, and was eventually divided up into wee-tiny little pieces to be sold separately.

If the documentation that the seller proclaims to have is true, then it's possible that the little speck of hair is the real mccoy.

I assume we are talking about the item listed here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1087657892

I notice it is listed under US WWI items, which makes one doubt the sellers knowlege. (In fairness, this appears to be a mistake, as the description clealy says MvR was German).

My Gallery
Ginger;
The hanky is in a box with MvR's skull, the M/G cartridge extractors, goggles, wrist watch and the infantry Spandau M/G belts in the Patsy Carsiella Collection.

Would anyone out there like to purchase the Fort Pitt Bridge?
Its for sale, cheap this week because detours will limit the amount of tolls the new owner can charge. Checks and credit cards accepted.

Speaking of suspicous WWI aviation relics up for sale on eBay, a month or so ago a pocket watch with an inscription to James McCudden from his sister on his "birthday" date popped up for sale. Although a true pocket watch once having belonged to McCudden would be awesome to own, this particular watch for sale was far too risky.

The pocket watch in question sold for about $300, if I remember correctly.
